Eyebrow hair loss?

i've been losing my eyebrow hairs to where my eyebrows are thinning and at the end of the hair is this white thing is that the hair follicle? and if it is does that mean my eyebrow hairs will never grow back again?

also, what could cause this? i'm 18.

i heard stress can also cause this, if so, how does that happen?Eyebrow hair loss?
I answered a question very similar to this yesterday. Many things can cause your eyebrows to fall out. If you get nervous, some tend to want to pull on them (like me), forcing them to come out. Hairs get a white tip when pulled out. Stress is one of the main causes of hair loss. If you are stressing over your eyebrows falling out, this cycle continues! Don't worry! They'll grow back!

Better consult your dermatologist immediately.Eyebrow hair loss?
put some cod liver oil on it or a lil bit of rogaine. i heard a make-up artist on tv tell someone that that had over tweezed their eyebrows for years and now they wont grow back
Could be a form of Alopecia. One of my mom's friends has a form where she doesn't have any hair at all no eyebrows, not eye lashes no hair on her head, although she says she has hair on her legs unfortunately lol. And I have a cousin that has another type where she just loses patches of hair on her head. Alopecia is an autoimmune disorder where your body's defenses are messed up and instead of fighting colds, and viruses they think your hair follicles are bad and they attack them.

Here is a link to it in web md. http://www.webmd.com/skin-problems-and-t鈥?/a>

Hope it helps.
Could be some type of health related issue. Maybe you aren't eating healthy enough.
If ur putting any cream or moisterizer on ur face and than rubbbing it on ur eyebrows this cause ur eyebrows hair weakness so they start to fall,i dont know how to get them back to grow, but be patient and im sure they'll grow back to normal.
my mom has weird eyebrows that just stopped growing after a point in time like mid way through the brow...we get our eyebrows threaded...and the lady who does this told my mom to use caster oil everyday and rub it on the eyebrows and it will make the hair grow.....worth a try???

Common things being common eyebrow hair loss is most likely due to either alopecia areata or eczema. Hypothyroidism is another common cause. The article below lists some other ones.

If you do have alopecia areata or eczema topical steroids or steroid injections can reverse it.

  • Eyebrow hair loss??

My eyebrows seem to be getting a little patchy..but I know the eyebrow hair is still growing cause the hairs are still coming in, in certain spots...but they all of the sudden I noticed they were patchy...for the last 5 months I have been shading them in with kinda of an eyebrow pencil thing and then combing them with an eyebrow brush...could this be causing them to be patchy??Eyebrow hair loss??
Could be from a number of things..some of which could be very serious, so I would definitely take a trip to the doctors, good luck!Eyebrow hair loss??
Go to your doctor and have your thyroid levels checked. It is a very odd thing, but loosing your eyebrows is a soft sign of a low thyroid level.

Unless you have been plucking rather more often than you should, because yes, the hairs may at some point not come back. But still see your doctor.

Check you Thyroid Gland. Hypotyroidism (Slow functioning thyroid) does that. Are you less energetic lately, having constipation, not eating much and gaining weight, having depressed mood ?.. If it's Thyroid problem, replacing thyroid hormone will bring them back.

See your doc if you have these symptoms

Good Luck, Don't worry too muchEyebrow hair loss?
18 years old are you male or female? The technical term for hair loss is Alopceia(I'm not sure if I spelled it right) some people have mild forms where they might just loose eye brows or lashes. If you are female you should have your hormones tested by your dr. Start with the general thyroid test. If no results pop up with that ask to see an endocrynologyst. They basicly are hormone guru's! they measure all the little hormones. If you have something out of balance they'll find it. Good luck
severe stress causes hair loss, but it returns later.my friend drove a dozier for 3 months in circles on a job and lost all his hair,i mean all. dr. told him stress.
Have your doctor check your thyroid. Losing eyebrow hairs can be a symptom of thyroid problems.
Make sure to get a TSH to rule out hypothyroidism.
theres makeup that you can fill it in with. some of my friends are like that.

    Eyebrow hair loss?

My eyebrow hairs have been falling out all the time since november, i thought it would just eventually go away but its not. I started volunteer work where im outdoors alot and wear sunscreen all over my face , including eyebrow area. Im thinking its what has caused it but not sure. I have also been under a great deal of stress, so maybe to do with it. The hair roots have now turned white!. Has anyone else had this? Who do you see a doctor or a dermatologist?. I saw a doctor but she didnt even look at it, she ';had no time'; after my flu shot. Thanks.Eyebrow hair loss?
Well both stress and thyroid problems can cause hair loss. You should see a dermatologist. I'm sure they will have answers for you. Don't worry too much your hair can grow back.Eyebrow hair loss?
Thyroid problems can cause loss of eyebrow hairs. But it's not very common. That's the only thing that I know of regarding your question.

not really- think about when your hair falls out (of your head) it has a folicle at the end. But there might be something wrong you might want to get it checked out. There is something about eyebrows that the hair will not grow after a long time of plucking. I used to have a unibrow when I was a little kid and I have been plucking since 6th grade and I have hardly any hair now. (I'm 35)Eyebrow hair loss?
    hahahaha
They might just don't pay attention to it. They will grow back
Question #1: I don't think this involves and infectious disease.

Question #2: No it's not the hair follicle. That's a skin structure. The white material may be part of the outer sheath of the bulb of the hair shaft or possibly the root.

Question #3: You can have follicles yet have no hair growth. I can't answer this because I'm not a dermatologist and I don't know why your eyebrows are falling out. I suggest you see one. This may be reversible.
sounds like alopecia, an immune deficiency that has your body attacking random hair folicals, usually scalp but not unusual for the face or beard (men). Read online, it can usually go away by itself but there is generally no cure only certain ways you can speed along the process - like cortizone cream or shots from teh dermatologist.
That's a toughie they may or may not. I know someone who had the same problem, she had her's tatooed back on by someone reputable and they look really natural, I thought they would look horrible but actually they are nice.

  • Eyebrow Hair Loss Accident HELP?

Hi, my friend was messing around with scissors and he cut a centimeter wide gap of hair out of my eyebrow, (luckly not my eye) but it is still embarissing, and I dont want to go to school tommorow. I have hair that covers most of it out, and Im thinking about using pen and marker to cover it up until it grows back. I have a few questions, how long will it take to grow back (im 13), and what could I do to help grow it back?Eyebrow Hair Loss Accident HELP?
go to the store and find an eyebrow pencil that matches your color and temporary use the pencil to fill it in until the hair grows out.

a tip - when using the pencil, make it look more natural by using a brow brush to blend in the color.Eyebrow Hair Loss Accident HELP?
eyebrows grow quickly but best to trim both up as much as you can and pencil in while you wait for the growth. I have naturally dark hair but I was blonde for years and kept my brows thinned out so I could just pencil in the color without having to dye them blonde, also a trick I've found that works well is using an eyeshadow over the pencil to give a feather like effect.

    Eyebrow hair loss?

i've been losing my eyebrow hairs to where my eyebrows are thinning and at the end of the hair is this white thing is that the hair follicle? and if it is does that mean my eyebrow hairs will never grow back again?Eyebrow hair loss?
About four million people a year will find themselves facing eyebrow hair loss. It is common to become quite concerned about this condition after all, it is a very noticeable area which makes it something many are self conscious about. Can you learn how to re-grow eyebrow hair? How do you find a solution to this very embarrassing problem?

    Make It Come Back!

The fact is that there are many ways that you can try to get eyebrow hair growth, but it is unlikely that you will find a solution that will work fast or effectively. The problem is that for most people, the cause of eyebrow hair loss is that of an autoimmune disease. The condition is called Alopecia Areata and it can affect the eyebrow hair, the scalp hair or virtually any other location on your body that has hair.

    Understanding Alopecia

The loss of eyebrow hair is something to be concerned about especially when coupled with other health issues. But, for most, the symptoms just won't be there. The only thing you will notice is a loss of hair. If you have this happen on your scalp, it will likely form a circle the size of a nickel or quarter of baldness. The cause of eyebrow loss, eyelash loss or loss of hair on your scalp is not something to worry about if it is Alopecia Areata, though.

    Bacteria Or Hair Follicle?

This condition is one that affects about four million people each year. The cause of this hair loss is actually a case of mistaken identity. Your body's immune system mistakenly thinks that the hair follicle is bacteria and tries to protect the body from it by attacking it. Unfortunately, when this happens, you lose the hair. Scientists are still unsure of why this happens or even why it happens to one person and not to the next.

    Fix It!

Eyebrow hair growth is not something that you can turn on and off, even if you want to. If you are experiencing hair loss due to Alopecia or for another medical condition, it will take time for your hair to re-grow and there is little that you can do to make it happen any faster.

The good news is that if you are suffering from Alopecia, the stem cells in your hair follicle are not affected by the white blood cells of your immune system attacking. Therefore, your hair should continue to grow once your new cells have been formed and grows a new hair.

If you are suffering from stress or a deficiency in your diet, this too can lead to eyebrow hair loss. If this is the case, the only way to fix it is to stop what is happening to you by eating a well balanced diet or by reducing your stress load. In any case, if you are facing eyebrow hair loss, it's important to keep your doctor in the loop as it can be a sign of something more serious although in most cases it is nothing but your body fighting itself.

    hope that helps x

Are you overplucking your brows and they're not growing back? I have basically the same problem, but mine is from overplucking/waxing. My hair didn't grow back because I damaged the hair follicles, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's going to happen to you. Let them go for a bit and see if they grow back.
you might just need to pencil them in... i know people that had FULL eyebrows and when they got older they HAD no eyebrow hair at all
